First Shrine Temple

On September 26, 1872, in the New York City Masonic Hall, the first Shrine Temple in the United States was organized. Brother Charles T. McClenachan and Brother Dr. Walter M. Fleming had completed the ritual and proposed that the first Temple be named Mecca
